Why does data enrichment matter?

Products are discovered in e-commerce through search. Search engines rely on detailed product information to surface relevant results. Enriched data makes your products more visible, increasing the chances of discovery and boosting sales.

How can we sell more of our products?

At Cut+Dry, we’re experimenting with several strategies to help influence and retain operator purchasing decisions, including direct-to-operator rebates, samples, and advertising in distributor catalogs. While these options aren’t yet available as self-serve features, you can contact our team to explore how these initiatives help you boost sales.

Where does Cut+Dry pull our product information from?

We understand that updating product data takes time, but it makes a huge difference in driving e-commerce sales. The product data we initially have comes from our distributor partners when they onboard to using Cut+Dry for their e-commerce solution; however, this data is often incomplete or outdated. That’s why we built the Cut+Dry Manufacturer Portal, allowing your team to take control and enhance your product content.

Brands that enrich their data see stronger sales over time, with even faster results when combined with Cut+Dry Influence ads, rebates, and samples. To populate your catalog, we can pull data from a PIM export or connect to your GS1 GDSN feed. However, even with these sources, we recommend adding final details afterwards to maximize product visibility and strengthen distributor relationships—all of which can be managed in the Manufacturer Portal.

Can Cut+Dry pull product data from Syndigo?

Sure! If you can provide a Syndigo data export or feed, we can work on extracting that data to help populate your catalog. Many brands use Syndigo to distribute content, but we’ve found that our distributor partners often struggle to access or fully utilize this data. As a result, your products may not be accurately represented in their digital catalogs, which can impact both product education on detail pages and search visibility for buyers.

How will customers order products if they don’t have a distributor's item numbers?

Great question! A customer can only order products that their distributor actively stocks and sells. If a product isn’t carried by that distributor, it won’t be available for their customers to purchase.

The distributor I'm working with doesn’t stock all of these products, so why do I need to enrich them all?

If a product isn’t carried by a distributor, it won’t be available for their customers to purchase. However, Cut+Dry works with multiple distributors, and different distributors may stock different products from your catalog. Ensuring your products are enriched across the platform helps boost visibility and sales across our entire network.

I thought Cut+Dry was a Drop Shipping Platform…

That's a common misconception! We power the online shopping experience for hundreds of distributors. 

We're only a technology provider and do not ship products ourselves; the distributors who use our platform for their customers' online ordering fulfill the shipments as usual. The Cut+Dry distributor network consists of distributors who use Cut+Dry to power their whole e-commerce experience or provide the product data that fuels their online operations. 

Is Cut+Dry really free?

Content enrichment for your products, brands, and company is totally free! We power the online shopping experience for hundreds of distributors. There's undoubtedly value here for you to enrich your products, and there’s no cost to doing so. It’s purely a benefit for your team to help you sell more across our network of distributors, and we’ve made it super easy!

We do offer Cut+Dry Influence, a paid program designed to further boost product visibility and sales through sponsored ad campaigns. However, this program is only available for select distributor partners at this time.

Will my products end up on Amazon or Walmart.com?

No, absolutely not. Cut+Dry does not power Amazon or Walmart’s e-commerce platforms—and never will.

Our technology is designed specifically to support foodservice distributors. We focus on improving product visibility and discoverability within distributor-owned e-commerce experiences, not online resellers. We are a technology provider and aim to enable our distributor and manufacturer partners to sell more by helping the distributor's customers find what they're looking for when shopping the distributor's online shopping experience (which we power).

Great content helps ensure your products are discoverable and well-represented. We do not directly control which products a particular distributor sells. However, we have seen that by enhancing content, products tend to be more discoverable and sell more, and then, not only does the distributor buy more of those products from you, but they also consider stocking more of your portfolio.

We want to spend money advertising, on rebates, samples, or enriching our content

Absolutely! We can support you with content enrichment and paid advertising to help boost your product visibility, increase sales, and secure more product slots. Our Cut+Dry Influence program offers sponsored ad campaigns, along with other opportunities like Buy Now, to drive customer engagement.

Are there any sort of footprint parameters that can be set to control which markets our products are made available to?

Your product data is only shared with distributors powered by Cut+Dry who are actively selling your products. You can view this information within your Manufacturer Portal after logging in. 

Can we be assured that the availability of our products will not be expanded into markets where we already have relationships with other distributors?

Yes, absolutely. We’re a technology provider. We’re helping your existing distributor partners better represent your products in their online shopping experience. You retain full control over which distributors can list and promote your products. We do not list your products; your distributor partners do. Nothing is made visible to new markets unless you allow it — we believe product content and availability should always reflect your partnerships and values.

Will Cut+Dry display products as being sold by the manufacturer, the distributor, or Cut+Dry?

Your products are never displayed as “sold by Cut+Dry.” We power the online catalogs of our distributor partners, so when a customer browses their digital storefront, they’re seeing your products as part of that distributor’s offering. The only branding visible to operators is the distributor’s and yours — we stay behind the scenes.

I keep getting emails or notices, but we have already enriched our products or brands.

The system will send you a message if you still have anything that needs to be worked on. Sometimes, the flag fails to be automatically set, and you get extra messages. We're working on an automation to avoid spamming you.
