Place a customer order

Find out how to place an order on behalf of one of your customers.

Overview

In cases where it's more convenient for you or your Salespersons to place an order for a customer, Cut+Dry makes it easy.

Tip: This article covers submitting an order in the same way a customer can. You can also submit an order on behalf of a customer using a spreadsheet upload. For more information, refer to Place a customer order via Upload Order.

 

Follow these steps to submit an order for your customer.


Start a customer order

  1. Select Customers from the navigation menu.
  2. Find your customer, then select the Order Guide button on their row.
    Tip: You can search by Salesperson, use the customer filters, or start typing into the search box.
     

Add items to a customer order

You can add items to a Cart using one or both of the following methods:

Add items via order guide

  1. Select the appropriate order guide from the Order Guide dropdown menu.
  1. Add or remove items by using the Quantity buttons.

Add items via catalog

  1. Toggle the Catalog button to go to your catalog.
  2. Add or remove items by using the +Add to Cart button.

     

Submit a customer order

  1. Once all items are added to the order, select the Cart to check out.
  2. Review the order and, if changes are necessary, select Edit Order.
  3. Choose a Delivery Date and, optionally, add any Special Instructions or Internal Notes to the order.
  4. Select Submit Order.

Result

You will receive a confirmation popup, and your customer will be notified of the order according to their app notification preferences.
